“Earning our Mutuality
”
The ICMIF 2007 Biennial Conference was held in Brussels, Belgium, 26–28 September, hosted by P&V.
This event will saw over three hundred delegates meeting, giving many opportunities to network with member organisation representatives as well as to share knowledge, strategies and ideas.
The Conference was hosted by P&V which celebrated the centenary of its foundation and Jacques Forest, Chairman of the Management Committee, P&V, welcomed delegates to Brussels, the capital of Belgium and of the European Union.
ICMIF Chief Executive, Shaun Tarbuck, talking about the theme of this year’s event said, “Any business, in any industry, must identify its unique selling point, differentiating it from its competitors. For mutuals and cooperatives this is inherent within our ownership structure, underpinning the delivery of all our services and products.
“It has struck me that there are many different ways to promote our uniqueness,
” said Shaun, “and whilst some members are excellent at it, others are still developing strategies, but for all of us it is crucial to our continued success. I believe that what gets measured gets done, hence the theme of our Conference, Earning our Mutuality.
”
The ICMIF Biennial Conference is a unique opportunity for delegates to network with their peers, and to stimulate new thinking and learn about strategies that can help and grow their business. With the social and economic changes being seen in the world today, the mutual and cooperative form of Governance is positioned in the right place at the right time to become a major force in financial services.
The local strength of the members is the global strength of ICMIF.
