ICMIF/Americas Annual Conference – hotel deadline now extended
The ICMIF/Americas Annual Conference will take place from November 14-16, 2012 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The theme of this year’s conference is A New Era for Cooperative and Mutual Insurance and is a perfect opportunity for CEOs, board members and senior staff of ICMIF members in the Americas region to learn about the successes and latest trends in the cooperative/mutual insurance industry.
Those wishing to attend the conference should note that the deadline for hotel reservations is now Friday, October 12. After this time all rooms in the ICMIF reservation block will be released.
The main venue for the conference will be the NH City and Tower Hotel located in Buenos Aires’ historic district. A special discounted group rate is available for ICMIF/Americas conference delegates. The keynote speaker for this year’s conference is the Reverend Paul Flowers, Chairman, The Co-operative Banking Group, Manchester, England, UK, who will discuss how The Co-operative Group renewed their commitment to cooperative values, reinvented their organizational culture internally and reinvigorated and enhanced their brand externally – all of which fuelled tremendous growth. Among other topics, he will also discuss the International Cooperative Alliance’s vision for the Cooperative Decade and the new Global Development Cooperative which seeks to raise US$50 million for revolving capital loans to cooperatives worldwide.

Annual General Meeting
All member companies of ICMIF in the Americas Region, particularly official voting representatives, are encouraged to attend and participate in the ICMIF/Americas Annual General Meeting which will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 2:00pm.
In addition to receiving the annual report from the association’s leadership the meeting will include the election of four directors to the Board of Trustees.
