The latest version of the ICMIF Members Key Statistics 2011: Premium Growth report analyses in detail the financial data about member companies at a global and regional level between 2007 and 2011. The report highlights how the premium income of ICMIF members increased by 8.4% in 2011 compared with the previous year, as members have collectively increased their premium income market share from 4.8% in 2007 to 5.6% in 2011. A similar growth was experienced in life and non-life premiums of member companies, with a market share in 2011 of 4.98% (2007: 3.87%) and 6.37% (2007: 6.07%)...

In March 2012, an updated version of the ICMIF Members Key Statistics 2010 report was published, which included new members’ financial data that was not available at the time of the first publication and revised global insurance industry statistics from Swiss Re (Sigma) data.

The updated version of the report highlights how ICMIF members’ performance in 2010 was better than first thought. Members increased their premium income in 2010 by 5.3% (previously calculated at 3.4%), with a total market share of 5.66% (previously estimated at 5.56%).

It shows that ICMIF members collectively increased their premium income market share from 5.7% in 2008 to 6.1% in 2009. ICMIF members hold a market share of 9.9% in non-life business and 3.3% in life business, with market share growing by 4% and 10% respectively over the period 2008/2009.

This report provides a summary of the corporate governance of ICMIF members in 2010, with comparisons from 2005. The report focuses on the composition of the Board of Directors, senior leadership and management committees of members. Analysis into the number of women on the Board of Directors of ICMIF members are compared against 2010 regional and industry averages, as produced by GovernanceMetrics International (GMI). The report is based on findings from the annual reports of 108 ICMIF members, representing 66% of ICMIF’s full membership and 93% of member premium income in 2010.
