Globalisation and technology are changing the face of the insurance industry around the world, making the challenge of responding to market trends far greater. Regardless of their market, customer base, size, or organisational form, insurers require market awareness and customer understanding, coupled with the ability to match their internal capabilities and strategy with external market opportunities.
For cooperative and mutual insurers which are members of the ICMIF, this can be best achieved by having access to the vast knowledge-bank that exists within the membership, both at an informal level and also through the research conducted by the Federation.
Our research falls into two main categories:
collaborative research, which involves the members actively contributing information about their own organisation or market, and with the Federation playing a coordinating role; and
ICMIF-based research, in which ICMIF conducts primary and secondary research across the market and among its members.
The results are presented as reports that aim to address current trends and challenges, providing relevant information to guide thinking at strategic and operational level, incorporating key facts and figures, individual case studies, and general market information.
