Jagged mountain peaks with rocky, dark surfaces are dusted with snow under a cloudy sky, creating a dramatic and rugged landscape scene.

Four ICMIF Supporting Members were included in the top 50 P&C Reinsurance Brand Rankings published by NMG Consulting. Swiss Re ranked first overall, based on unaided recognition and brand performance.

QBE Re, which has offices in Bermuda, Brussels, Dubai, Dublin, London or New York, placed 19th, rising three places on the previous year and consolidating its position within the top 20.

Also included in the rankings were Peak Re (33rd), a global reinsurer headquartered in Hong Kong, and Patria Re (41st), the dedicated reinsurance arm of Grupo Peña Verde headquartered in Mexico.

The rankings are based on NMG’s annual Study of the P&C reinsurance market, which incorporates feedback from over 2,000 re/insurance executives worldwide.

In the regional rankings for Latin America, Swiss Re ranked second, Patria Re 10th, and QBE Re 17th. Swiss Re also topped the rankings for Asia, where Peak Re placed 16th. In Europe, Swiss Re once again secured the number one position, with QBE Re ranking 20th.

Speaking about the recognition, Jolee Crosby, CEO Reinsurance Canada, Swiss Re said: “We see strong brand recognition as a by-product of how we work with clients – listening closely, bringing deep technical insights, and supporting them consistently through changing risk landscapes. This recognition from NMG Consulting reinforces the importance of long-term partnership and local engagement across regions.”

Franz Hahn, Chief Executive Officer, Peak Re told ICMIF: “Peak Re is honoured to be recognised in NMG Consulting’s Global Top 50 P&C Reinsurance Brand Rankings. Achieving 33rd place globally and 16th in Asia reflects the growing trust our clients and partners place in us and underscores our commitment to delivering innovative, client centric reinsurance solutions from our Asian headquarters to markets worldwide.”

“NMG’s reports determine who the market leaders are in terms of service, price and technical capability; in addition to measuring how local companies are positioned against European and American giants,” said Eduardo Xhemalce Fuentes, Co-Technical Director of Patria Re, in a press release.
