New Zealand’s leading rural insurer and ICMIF member FMG was last year named the country’s best large workplace for 2015.
FMG received the recognition during the IBM Kenexa Best Workplaces Awards ceremony in Auckland in November 2015.
This was the third year running that FMG had been a finalist in the large workplace category and the seventh year in a row it has been named a category finalist.
“What’s really significant and pleasing about this award is that it’s endorsement directly from our employees that FMG is a great place to work,” says Andrea Brunner Chief Marketing and Human Resources Officer.
“We’ve worked hard as an organization over many years to build a unique culture. Being a great place to work means that employees are our best advocates and with record numbers of client growth over the last five years this means we are also a great place to do business,” Mrs Brunner continued.
The Best Workplaces Awards are based on the results of employee responses to a survey which measures engagement within an organisation. Involvement is voluntary and IBM Kenexa emails the survey directly to employees each year.
“The feedback we get by being involved with this survey is valuable in helping us find areas which need improving. It’s certainly helped us build a better business for employees and for clients and there are many benefits of participating in the survey for any business,” said Mrs Brunner.
“FMG’s successes boil down to our values as a mutual organization,” concludes Mrs Brunner. “If our purpose is to give rural New Zealanders a better deal, then we can only achieve this if we work hard to maintain an engaged, productive workforce that services clients to the highest standard. This results in a satisfied and loyal membership who recommend FMG as an insurer, and this keeps us profitable and sustainable to help us protect our farming generations well into the future.”
