Keynote speakers announced for the 26th ICMIF/Americas Annual Conference, November 2018 in Colombia

ICMIF is pleased to announce Héctor Miguel Opazo Santis as the keynote speaker for the upcoming 26th ICMIF/Americas Annual Conference, which will take place from 19-21 November 2018 in Cartagena (Colombia).

Héctor Miguel Opazo Santis has more than 20 years’ international experience in business management, innovation, technology and operations. Currently, he serves as CEO of the Andean region for Grupo Componente, a Chilean firm with expertise in digital channels, digital transformation, Agile methodologies, business models based on emerging technologies and FinTech Innovation.

Santis will deliver a keynote presentation during the afternoon of Monday 19 November, entitled “Value networks and digital transformation for the cooperative and mutual insurance sector”. In this session, delegates will learn more about the digital transformation of businesses. Santis will look at how cooperative and mutual insurers can break down the cultural barrier that exists with respect to technology; how they can define where and when digital transformations are happening within an organisation; and the next steps to be taken in terms of future technological advancement.

ICMIF/Americas is also pleased to confirm the participation of Rafael González as a speaker at the Annual Conference. Dr González is Director of the Special Administrative Unit of Solidarity Organizations, the state entity attached to the Ministry of Labour, which has the task of promoting and strengthening solidarity organisations in Colombia (such as cooperatives, employee funds, mutual associations, foundations, associations, corporations, community organisations and volunteer groups).

The theme of this year's conference, Insuring Tomorrow: Fostering Sustainability and Resilience, will focus on how cooperative and mutual insurers can future-proof their businesses to ensure sustainable competitiveness and the ability to remain resilient in the ever-changing world of both today and tomorrow.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION: The registration fees for conference participants are as follows: participants from member companies pay USD 1075 per person and participants from non-member companies pay USD 1275 per person. Smaller ICMIF member companies with less than USD 5 million in net written premium income per year receive a discounted rate of USD 450 per person.
