ICMIF Supporting Member A.M. Best has this week announced that two of its senior executives have been named by Intelligent Insurer magazine in the 2017 edition of its annual Influential Women in (Re)Insurance list, which profiles an elite roster of female executives making their mark on the risk transfer industry.
Andrea Keenan (pictured), senior managing director of industry relations throughout the Americas – Canada, the United States, Caribbean and Latin America – together with Catherine Thomas, senior director of analytics based in A.M. Best’s Europe Middle East and Africa office in London, are named in the honour list by Intelligent Insurer.
Keenan joined A.M. Best in 2000, and has held various roles with increased responsibilities. Keenan also has been instrumental in promoting A.M. Best’s data and analytic capabilities through raising the profile of its research activities, as well as the development of A.M. Best country risk analytics, and is a frequent industry speaker on various topics, including microinsurance.
Thomas, who started with A.M. Best in 2006, also has advanced during her tenure, and today manages a significant portfolio of rating accounts, managing an international team of rating analysts, covering Lloyd’s and the London market, and many companies across Europe. Thomas also regularly presents A.M. Best’s view in speaking roles and contributes to the extensive stream of special reports and market briefings on broader (re)insurance issues and global markets.
“A.M. Best congratulates Andrea and Catherine on this recognition, which is a reflection of their hard work and important contribution to the industry,” said Matt Mosher, executive vice president and chief operating officer of A.M. Best Rating Services, Inc. “A.M. Best welcomes the different viewpoints and backgrounds of its diverse workforce, and these two individuals are key members of a dedicated team that continues to exhibit solid knowledge and understanding of the (re)insurance industry.”
A.M. Best is a longstanding Supporting Member of ICMIF and both Keenan and Thomas have made very positive contributions to ICMIF Conferences as speakers and panellists. Keenan is a regular speaker at the Annual Meeting of the Latin American Reinsurance Group (LARG).
Nick Charteris-Black, Managing Director, Market Development – EMEA, of A.M. Best will chair a session on Redesigning insurance… how we manage and insure emerging risks at the forthcoming ICMIF Biennial Conference in London (17-20 October 2017). Delegates will also be able to meet and network with other members of the A.M. Best team at the event.
