“ICMIF and its member organizations are celebrating an important anniversary this year.  It is fifty years since the cooperative insurance sector decided formally to help support the establishment and growth of cooperative insurers in developing economies.  The creation in 1963 of the Insurance Development Bureau (later the Cooperative Insurance Development Bureau, CIDB) was to have profound results worldwide.  Many of today’s active ICMIF members were themselves supported in their early days through the work of the IDB.  The Bureau’s work continues today, through ICMIF’s Development Network…”
