Conference session

Embedding resilience in strategy

African Risk Capacity (South Africa), Unipol (Italy), and Co-operators (Canada) are actively engaging in initiatives focused on sustainability, innovation, and resilience. African Risk Capacity has developed a strategy centred around seven mechanisms to address environmental, social, and economic challenges, emphasising innovation in response to climate change. Unipol integrates sustainability into its operations, focusing on green technologies and sustainable insurance products to reduce environmental impact. Co-operators is working towards enhancing resilience against natural disasters, investing in community resilience projects, and promoting resilient building practices. Together, these organisations are contributing to efforts in sustainability, aiming to address and adapt to modern challenges while promoting ecological balance and community well-being.

At the core of African Risk Capacity’s (ARC) (South Africa) strategic vision are seven key mechanisms, crafted to support the organisation’s ambitious objectives. These mechanisms are not merely operational tools but the very essence of ARC’s philosophy, reflecting a deep commitment to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic viability. Each mechanism is designed to interlock seamlessly, creating a robust framework that drives the company’s initiatives towards meaningful outcomes.
