Exemplifying the benefits of mutuality to enhance farm and community lifestyles

Although Trillium Mutual (Canada) was only established in 2004 as a result of an amalgamation between two Ontario-based agricultural mutual insurers, the roots of the organisation began 140 years ago. The dynamic of this evolution is an organisation that recognises the value of the past, present, and future. This strong legacy, combined with a dedication to its members, allows Trillium Mutual to continue to exemplify the benefits of mutuality.

At Trillium Mutual Insurance they develop insurance solutions for people, not profits. They are dedicated to their members while supporting the organization wide commitment to mutuality.

Mutual insurance companies thrive on their members and the concept of togetherness. It is that ‘sharing’ ideal that sets the mutuals apart from the rest of the insurance industry. They are rooted in the idea that through business they can give people peace of mind for life’s unexpected events.

Key messages

Most campaigns are intentional and part of Trillium's marketing strategy while others are opportunistic when something positive is happening in the mutual community or conversely, when something negative is happening on the stock company side. Messaging about mutuality educates members and future members while intentionally differentiating them from the stock companies.
