Conference session

Building cyber resilience (MORO 2025)

This panel session explores the evolving landscape of cyber risk and the growing need for insurance solutions tailored to SMEs, farms, and individuals, which remain significantly underinsured despite rising threats. Cybercrime has become a highly organised, trillion-dollar global enterprise, increasingly targeting smaller organisations with limited defences. The discussion covers the importance of accessible, simplified cyber products, the challenges of managing systemic risk and accumulation, and the shifting dynamics of ransomware attacks. It also addressed the role of regulation, the value of embedded cyber cover, and the growing relevance of personal cyber insurance. There is a need for insurers, particularly those in the mutual and cooperative space, to balance affordability, education, and innovation in delivering cyber resilience across diverse communities.
