Happy family standing on the field at the sunset time. They build a house. Concept of friendly family.

According to French ICMIF member Aéma Groupe, its acquisition of Aviva France last week meets the original ambition of Macif and Aésio Mutuelle, the founders of the Groupe, to become a leading mutualist group for the 11 million French people it protects.

The acquisition, which is considerable in terms of its economic size and strategic scope, brings Aviva France under the French mutual flag. Aéma Groupe says it thereby demonstrates its ability to grow and to serve the widest range of policyholders (individuals, professionals, self-employed and companies) through a complete range of solutions. Thanks to the complementary nature of its expertise, Aéma Groupe says, this multi-brand, multi-network, multi-trade group is strengthening its positions in all areas of insurance. Resolutely mutualist, Aéma Groupe consistently aims to make the voice of its members and customers heard in the public debate on social issues relating to protection and retirement.

“Through this transaction, which was completed in less than a year and ahead of schedule, we are demonstrating our ability to build a strong and innovative player that meets the new needs expressed by society as a whole,” said Adrien Couret, Managing Director of Aéma Groupe.

Pascal Michard, President of Aéma Groupe and ICMIF Board member added: ” From now on, Aviva France, with its 4,500 employees, will continue its growth within our common company. It will do so while respecting its identity and specificities, and with the same determination to provide increasingly relevant and sustainable insurance solutions to its 3 million policyholders.’

Following the acquisition, the newly elected Chairman of Aviva France, Jean-Philippe Dogneton, Deputy CEO of Aéma Groupe concluded: “The arrival of Aviva France in our Group will enhance our diversity and give us new responsibilities towards the policyholders, members and customers with whom we are in daily contact. This acquisition will strengthen the synergies of skills and expertise and the complementarities of know-how. We are very proud and happy to welcome the Aviva France teams who share our values of solidarity and commitment.”
