ICMIF members come out on top in UK personal finance awards

Now in their 22nd year, the Personal Finance Awards have enjoyed recognition for many as being a benchmark for excellence in the UK’s consumer finance market. The 2019 Personal Finance Awards took place at the in London last week, on Wednesday 27 November. Voted for by consumers via The Money Pages website, the organisers say the awards celebrate the best of the UK’s personal finance businesses and products.

Three ICMIF members were winners in the awards last week, they are NFU Mutual, Royal London and Simplyhealth.

NFU Mutual won the Best Insurance Provider – Customer Service award and was also highly commended in the Best Motor Insurance category.

NFU Customer relationship specialist Jim Coxall and customer experience specialist Liam Johnson accepted the Personal Finance Award for customer service on behalf of NFU Mutual. Jim said: “With more than 300 agencies around the UK, we are an insurer that prides itself on great personal customer service, delivered a lot of the time by local people. Winning this award is recognition of that personal touch, coupled with the fact we pay out claims with a no-quibble approach. It’s not just externally that we perform. Internally, we have one of the highest employee engagement rankings in the world according to surveyors Gallup.”

Royal London won the Best Over 50s Life Insurance award. Gary Beyer, Head of Consumer Protection Propositions at Royal London said: “We’re thrilled to receive the Best Over 50s Life Insurance award. We put our customers at the heart of everything we do and this award reflects our hard work and determination to provide the best possible proposition for our customers.”

Everyday health plan provider Simplyhealth was named ‘Best Health Insurance Provider’ for the fifth year running at the Awards. Kate Eyre, Head of Marketing (Acquisition) at Simplyhealth, commented; “We’re absolutely delighted to have been named Best Health Insurance Provider at the Personal Finance Awards for the fifth year running.”
