At the recent ICMIF Intelligence Committee meeting in Paris (France) Gina Fusco, Director of Strategy and Marketing at UK-based member organisation NFU Mutual, was elected as the next Chair of the Committee.

The Intelligence Committee is a sub-committee of the ICMIF Board of Directors, established in order to guide ICMIF’s networking and knowledge activities. The Committee (IC), which is made up of senior executives from 24 member organisations, acts as a network to leverage the experiences and capabilities of its members through the sharing of strategic intelligence and research; best practice methodologies on innovation, technology, sustainability; and other emerging issues.

Gina has been a member of the Intelligence Committee since April 2014. In her role at NFU Mutual, she is responsible for strategy, propositions, marketing and corporate communications across the NFU Mutual Insurance Group. Gina is also Chair and a trustee of the Farm Safety Foundation, a charity initiated by NFU Mutual in 2014 to raise farm safety awareness amongst young farmers and reduce the number of serious and fatal accidents in the sector. Her career has centred around strategy, marketing and product development and, prior to joining NFU Mutual, she held positions such as Head of Saving, Investments & Banking at Abbey National; Head of Advertising at Barclays; and was a founding director of ING Direct UK.

Commenting on her appointment as Intelligence Committee chair, Gina said: “I am thoroughly delighted to have been asked to chair the ICMIF Intelligence Committee. I joined the Committee in 2014 and have been an avid supporter ever since. The opportunity to discuss strategic issues, global trends and opportunities with people from mutual and cooperative insurers around the world is invaluable. The outputs and insights shared amongst the ICMIF network are world-class and the case studies provide practical examples of how other organisations are reacting to market trends – all of which have provided useful input to our thinking and strategies at NFU Mutual”.

Gina succeeds Bill McKinney (Thrivent, USA) who previously served as Chair since November 2015. In her role as Chair of the Intelligence Committee, Gina also replaces Bill as an ex-officio member of the ICMIF Board of Directors.

During the meeting in Paris, Nadine Anemüller, Head of International Cooperation at DEVK (Germany) was also elected to the position of Vice-Chair of the Intelligence Committee.
