Belgian cooperative insurer and ICMIF member P&V Group has received four trophies at the 2025 Decavi Life Insurance Awards, recognising its innovation, prevention initiatives, and social commitment.
The insurer won two awards for innovation in life insurance, one for its Free Supplementary Pension for the Self-Employed (PLCI) and another for its Vivium Selection investment insurance. It also received two additional awards, one for its VITY health and prevention app, and another for the P&V Group Academy, a social inclusion programme aimed at helping young people access employment opportunities.
“We are constantly innovating to make insurance accessible to as many people as possible,” said Hilde Vernaillen, CEO of P&V Group and former Chair of ICMIF. “It is very gratifying that our focus on prevention and social commitment – two of our core values – is recognised and rewarded.”
Innovative life insurance products
The PLCI insurance offers self-employed people a unique opportunity to build a supplementary pension by combining guaranteed returns (branch 21) with potential additional returns (branch 23). Groupe P&V is currently the only insurer in Belgium offering such a hybrid model.
The Vivium Selection product, meanwhile, provides a new investment solution that bridges the gap between mainstream investment insurance and bespoke private banking services. It allows customers to invest from EUR 25,000 in a portfolio tailored to their investor profile, balancing sustainability and performance.
Promoting prevention and inclusion
The VITY app, launched in June 2025 with partners Cohezio, Multipharma and Solidaris, encourages users to adopt healthier lifestyles through personalised advice on movement, nutrition, sleep, relaxation, and mental well-being. Users can earn virtual rewards for healthy actions, which can then be donated to social or environmental causes.
The P&V Group Academy, first launched in 2024, supports young people facing barriers to employment by offering paid internships, training, and mentorship within the company. The first cohort saw five of its seven participants hired by P&V Group, and a second group has recently begun the programme.
Vernaillen added: “At a time when inclusion policies are under pressure, we are choosing to commit ourselves more than ever. The P&V Group Academy embodies our cooperative values: inclusion, solidarity, and belief in people’s potential.”
The Decavi Life Insurance Awards recognise excellence and innovation across the Belgian insurance market.
