Helping people and communities through the COVID-19 Pandemic

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Canadian ICMIF member The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company (Wawanesa Insurance) announced a CAD 100,000 donation to food banks in Canada and the United States.

“As we continue to experience the broad impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic across our communities, we’ve learned of the immense pressure being put on food banks,” said Jodi Carradice, Senior Vice President and Chief People and Culture Officer for Wawanesa Insurance. “Food banks are crucial to the health and well-being of so many people and, right now especially, our food banks need resources.”

Supporting the communities where their employees and policyholders live and work is a core value for Wawanesa Insurance.

“We will continue to partner with the dedicated people in our communities who operate the food banks as they bravely work to help our neighbours,” added Carradice, “Together, we will get through this.”

Staff at Wawanesa insurance have also donated supplies for frontline workers via the RMH Foundation which raises funds to purchase essential equipment for a local hospital and health care in the local community.
