Upcoming: 8 July, 15:00-16:00 BST
This webinar will explore how ICMIF members Co-operators, Gore Mutual and Wawanesa are addressing Canada’s wildfire vulnerabilities, and the complexities of providing affordable insurance, particularly for homes in high-hazard wildfire areas. Although these examples are drawn from Canada, the insights derived from them are applicable to a wide range of other contexts.
Co-operators will share its experience pioneering wildfire risk assessment in the Canadian insurance sector and developing a national risk model as well as adaptation strategies for Canadian communities; Gore Mutual will provide insights into its efforts to help protect members’ properties from wildfires, and work being done on the impact to vulnerable communities; and Wawanesa will explain its approach to building partnerships to help protect communities.

- Gaby Polanco-Sorto, Vice President and Head of Purpose and Sustainability, Gore Mutual (Canada)
