The ICMIF Welcome Reception will be held in the conference hotel on Wednesday, August 27 to allow delegates to meet each other and their accompanying persons, exchange ideas and relax together upon arrival in Heredia.
Friday, August 29: Host Gala Dinner, Fogo Rodizio

Fogo Rodizio is a gourmet Steakhouse that fuses Brazilian gastronomy with the highest quality Costa Rican ingredients on the market. Their famous service of premium meats imported from Texas, cooked in their Churrasquera slowly over charcoal and served Rodizio style at your table, will make your dining experience an unforgettable moment.

The Accompanying Persons' programme fee is USD 350 per person.
To register for this programme, you must add your accompanying person within your own online conference registration. This option will be available at the end of your registration process, and any additional charges will be included in the final invoice.
Thursday, August 28: Accompanying Persons' tour - Tour Irazu Volcano-Orosi Valley and Los Angeles Basilica
6.00am till 7.00pm (lunch included)
Discover the majesty of the Irazú Volcano with our panoramic tour. Leaving the Panamerican Highway, we will begin our ascent through potato, onion and beet plantations, enjoying breathtaking views of the Central Valley.
As we climb, you will notice changes in the climate and vegetation until we reach the summit, at 3432 metres above sea level. From there, on clear days, it is possible to see both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. You will be able to admire the craters Irazú, Playa Hermosa and Diego de la Haya, surrounded by a unique paramo forest, a natural region of montane grassland and shrubland.
The tour continues to Cartago, the old colonial capital, where we will visit the Basilica of the Virgin of the Angels, a sanctuary of great spiritual value for the Costa Ricans.
Saturday, August 30: Tour of Tortuguero
From approximately 5.30am to 7.30pm (full day tour, lunch included).
Itinerary of the Saturday tour of Tortuguero
5:30 AM – Depart San José with your bilingual nature guide. Enjoy scenic views of coffee plantations and the cloud forests of Braulio Carrillo National Park, with its steep slopes and stunning waterfalls.
7:30 AM – Stop at Fogón de Lola for a traditional Costa Rican breakfast, including Gallo Pinto, eggs, fruit juice, and coffee.
After breakfast, visit a banana plantation to learn about its cultivation and export process.
Embark on a one-hour boat ride through Tortuguero National Park, home to diverse wildlife, including green sea turtles, sloths, monkeys, toucans, crocodiles, and vibrant butterflies.
Before lunch, visit Cerro Tortuguero for breathtaking views of the canals, rainforest, lagoons, and the Caribbean Sea.
1:00 PM – Enjoy a buffet lunch, followed by a guided walk through Tortuguero town to explore its history and culture.
3:30 PM – Return to San José, with a brief rest stop, arriving around 7:30 PM.
