CIC Insurance Group launches accident scene management service with AA

Kenyan ICMIF member CIC Group and AA Kenya have launched an accident scene management service for comprehensive motor policyholders, a move aimed at enhancing the claims process.

The new Motoring Assist service will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week to support any customer who has experienced a motor accident by sending an emergency response team to the scene of the accident.

CIC Group Chief Executive Officer, Patrick Nyaga said the solution, which has been developed by AA Kenya, will position CIC as an innovative motor insurance provider in the market seeking to support the customer.

“We are happy to have partnered with AA in launching this service that is unique and new in the insurance industry. This new service will shorten the process that our customers have experienced during a claim process in the past. Our goal is to serve our customers in the best way possible,” said Nyaga.

All CIC Group motor customers with a comprehensive cover will automatically be signed-up to this offering. The solution will support the customers in securing the scene of the accident, evaluating the accident scene, and calling for medical assistance, as well as providing towing services if required.

Fred Ruoro, Managing Director, CIC General Insurance, said the partnership between like-minded partners, from the leading motor insurer and largest mobility solutions provider, is essential, and will add value to the customers.

“Our vision is that this value-added to our private motor cover will offer convenience to the customer, influence product uptake, and grow our market share,” said Ruoro.

Francis Theuri, Chief Executive Officer, AA Kenya said the partnership was part of the Association’s vision to provide innovative solutions on motoring matters. “AA is focused on providing solutions that address motoring related challenges in this country and making the motoring experience safe for our members and the public at large.”

The services will first be accessible in Nairobi then launched in the other counties across Kenya.

The CIC Group has shouldered the risks of Kenyans by providing insurance and financial services built around their needs for five decades. With 1.3 million clients, the group ranks among the most successful insurance companies in Kenya and the leading cooperative insurer in Africa. The CIC Group is also planning to expand operations in the East and Central parts of Africa.
