Folksam - Swedish Athletics Association partnership - March 2021

Swedish ICMIF member Folksam and the Swedish Athletics Association have announced that they are to extend their partnership for another four years. This means that Folksam will continue to be the title sponsor of the Folksam Grand Prix event and will also step in as a partner to the Frisk Friidrott website, which is the Swedish Athletics Association information website for health & performance in young athletes.

Folksam is the official sports insurance company for the Association and insures all children and young people up to the age of 16 who are active in an association within the Swedish Athletics Association. The insurance covers, among other things, participants in the Athletics Schools that are arranged by associations around Sweden.

“We are incredibly proud to continue our partnership. Athletics engages many people at both the general and elite levels, so it feels extra important that we, as the sports insurance company, are involved and contribute to the continued development of athletics. Together we can create sustainable sports throughout life,” said Madeleine Hasselwander, Key Account Manager at Folksam Idrott.

“The Folksam Grand Prix competitions are very important for our active and belong to the largest and most popular athletics events during the year for Swedish Athletics. It gives our active members the opportunity to meet good international opposition at home and receive support from the home crowd. Our collaboration with Folksam as a national partner and event sponsor has been of great importance for many years and we are pleased that together with Folksam we can now aim to develop the competitions further over the next four years,” said Jan Larsson, Marketing Manager at the Swedish Athletics Association.
