Grupo San Cristóbal (Argentina) was one of the big winners at the recent Eikon Awards in Buenos Aires, taking home the Golden Eikon in the Issues Management category. In their 28th edition, the Awards recognise organisations that demonstrate excellence in institutional communication.

Grupo San Cristóbal was praised for its response to the Bahía Blanca floods in March 2025, during which it provided swift and effective assistance to policyholders. The insurer leveraged predictive technology to anticipate a surge in claims that could have harmed its reputation.

The floods, caused by a year’s worth of rain falling in a matter of a few hours, resulted in 17 deaths, material damage, thousands of evacuations, and more than 200 disappearances.

Grupo San Cristóbal also partnered with Cooperativa Obrera to distribute over 1,800 kilos of supplies to schools, kindergartens, police stations, health centres and social organisations. Donations included items of clothing, food, furniture, lighting, computers and medical supplies.

These coordinated efforts helped the insurer maintain its reputation and build trust among affected communities.

“Receiving this recognition as gold in Issues Management is, for us, an honour and a confirmation of our commitment to people,” said Christian Blousson, Marketing Manager of Grupo San Cristóbal, speaking with Todo Riesgo. “When the water began to rise, our priority was to be faster than the claim, closer than the expectation, and to demonstrate that well-thought-out insurance can be part of the solution. We share this award with our policyholders, collaborators and producers who made this response possible.”
