LB Forsikring launches AI-powered app to strengthen climate prevention for members

A modern living room with large windows showing a city view. There is a puddle of water on the dark wooden floor near a grey sofa, suggesting a possible leak or flooding issue.

ICMIF member LB Forsikring has announced the launch of a new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered app designed to help homeowners prevent weather-related damage, as climate risks continue to rise across Denmark.

The app, Klima+, aims to support members in identifying potential risks to their homes caused by increasing heavy rainfall, cloudbursts and rising groundwater levels, challenges that have affected a growing number of Danish households in recent years.

By using AI technology, the app allows users to take photos of areas of concern around their property. The system then analyses the images to detect possible vulnerabilities and suggests preventive actions, providing members with practical insights to protect their homes.

“AI is widely used to optimise and streamline processes in companies and organisations. We want to use AI more broadly and use the technology to develop our prevention agenda so that members feel that we create value for them, and in this case with the help of AI. We do this, among other things, if artificial intelligence can help us better prevent damage,” says Heidi Torm, Chief Technology Officer, LB Forsikring.

The initiative responds to increasing demand from members for guidance on climate-proofing their homes. Internal research by LB Forsikring indicates that while many homeowners are motivated to take preventive action, they often lack the knowledge or support needed to address risks effectively.

The Klima+ app has already been tested with a selected group of users. From 16 March 2026, LB Forsikring says 5,000 members will be invited to join the platform, with a broader rollout planned over time.

“We will continuously optimise and develop the app as we find out what our members want to use. Our long-term expectation is that we can reduce the number and minimise the extent of injuries through prevention. Major climate damage to the home can be very stressful for our members, as their homes can be more or less uninhabitable for a period of time,” adds Heidi Torm.

About the Klima+ app

  • Helps members identify potential risks of damage to the home
  • Uses AI technology to analyse photos and suggest preventive solutions
  • Available via the App Store and Google Play
  • Initially available to 5,000 invited members, with gradual expansion to more users
  • Accessible to all members with a house insurance policy from 16 March 2026

With this launch, LB Forsikring says the mutual insurer is reinforcing its commitment to prevention, leveraging digital innovation to reduce claims and improve resilience among its member-owners in the face of growing climate challenges.

For member-only strategic content on the cooperative/mutual insurance sector, ICMIF members have exclusive access to a range of online resources through the ICMIF Knowledge Hub.
