A total of 22 charitable institutions throughout Germany will receive financial support from ICMIF member R+V Versicherung, as the company raised a record EUR 181,700 in its annual Christmas fundraising campaign.

Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, inflation, exploding energy prices: the effects of the major crises this year also hit and are still hitting many charitable institutions. In this year’s traditional R+V Christmas fundraising campaign, the focus was placed on the “Tafeln” (food banks) among the institutions covered, as they are particularly challenged by the increased number of refugees, inflation and the rise in people in need. An record amount of EUR 181,700  was reached in the 2022 fundraising (in the previous year’s Christmas fundraising campaign EUR 136,000 was raised).

The R+V STIFTUNG, in which R+V bundles its social commitment, organises the annual Christmas fundraising campaign. Half of the donation money comes from the collection campaign of R+V employees throughout Germany. The other half is contributed by the cooperative R+V Versicherung, which traditionally doubles every euro donated by its employees, including in this challenging year for the company. “We expressly stand by our social responsibility even in these difficult times,” emphasises Norbert Rollinger, Chairman of the Board of Management at R+V.

The campaign has been taking place for a fortnight during Advent since 1994. The money is always donated to charitable associations and initiatives that help disadvantaged people. Since its launch, the fundraising campaign has already raised more than EUR 1 million for a good causes.
