In response to the coronavirus pandemic, ICMIF member San Cristóbal Seguros (Argentina) has launched a virtual medical platform for its policyholders.  This new digital channel deals with clinical and paediatric medical consultations helping relieve the workload of medical centres.

The service offers medical consultations by videoconference and if required, immediate attention from qualified clinical doctors and paediatricians, 24 -7.

The new service helps resolve simpler, medical consultations that do not require a physical examination. It is estimated that video medical consultations can solve 8 out of 10 cases without the need to refer them for a face-to-face attention.

Vanesa Rocca, General Manager of San Cristóbal Seguros says:

“Today, more than ever, we feel closer to our policyholders, because we understand the importance of taking care of each other in order to cope with the current context with which we are faced. We understand that using digital media and the capabilities we have, enables us to act swiftly as well as to offer alternatives that can add value. Acting fast is key.”

The service is now available for free to all customers with active policies via the self-service site and the app for customers of San Cristóbal Seguros.

“We see this tool as a way to be, once again, at the service of our clients and brokers in such a difficult period. At the same time, collaborating with the community is putting less strain on the hospital system. By the same token, we aim to provide more and better services through our digital products. In the last week only, downloads of our app doubled as well as the number of new users of our self-management site” comments Nicolás Renzi, Leader of Digital Transformation at Grupo San Cristóbal.

She adds: “Despite the current crisis, our teams continue to work – remotely – to bring our brokers and customers new online features that allow them to deal with San Cristóbal”.

For member-only strategic content on the cooperative/mutual insurance sector, ICMIF members have exclusive access to a range of online resources through the ICMIF Knowledge Hub.
