Argentinian ICMIF member Seguros Rivadavia has joined the fight trying to combat the pandemic generated by COVID-19 with various solidarity actions through its Raúl Vázquez Foundation, allocating donations of more than ARS 2 million to the cause.

Of the various donations made by Seguros Rivadavia, two important contributions stand out, the first was to the San Roque Hospital in the town of Manuel B. Gonnet and the Rodolfo Rossi Hospital in the city of La Plata. The donations given to these two hospitals provided the construction and sanitation materials necessary for a comprehensive restoration of the changing rooms for the exclusive use of medical personnel and other health workers in each of the two institutions.

The cooperative insurer also provided the Teodoro J. Schestakow Hospital in San Rafael, Mendoza, with items of essential machines and equipment for the care of patients in intensive care.

In addition, Seguros Rivadavia distributed 12,500 face masks and more than 500 disposable gowns for healthcare workers to use at the San Martín de Paraná Hospitals, Entre Ríos; Alejandro Korn of Melchor Romero; San Martín de La Plata; and the Health Center No. 166 in Maipú, Mendoza.

These donations were made are in addition to the delivery made some time ago to the Argentina Diego Hospital in the town of Azul of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, which has meant that the hospital is now positioned among the main diagnosis and treatment centres of COVID 19.

Solidarity with local communities and its members is more important than ever for Seguros Rivadavia as the organisation continues its firm commitment to those who need it most, convinced that the path of generosity will result in favourable results for all. Therefore, the organisation says it has plans to make equivalent donations in other parts of Argentina.

The Raúl Vázquez Foundation was created on 14 July 1983, its main contributors being Seguros Rivadavia and its employees. The main mission of the Foundation is to provide assistance to disadvantaged children, prioritizing health and education needs.
