Brazilian ICMIF member Seguros Unimed, has been investing more in its technology and the implementation of systems and tools that contribute to supporting sales whilst also ensuring greater sustainability for the business.

The cooperative insurer has just announced the launch of the platform “Acelera”, which is focused on sales of health insurance to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and which allows a broker to conclude a contract of up to 99 lives in just a few minutes.

Acelera is hosted within the Broker Portal and, when accessing it, the partner will find the option of simulating the contracting of the plan, or going directly to the sale. When entering the company’s legal registration number to start the operation, some registration information fields are automatically entered, which makes the process much faster. After this stage, which only takes a few minutes, the customer receives the proposal by e-mail and can fill out their health questionnaire.

The launch of the new platform is one of the actions implemented by the market and technology team at Seguros Unimed to leverage the business of the commercial SME and membership department. According to Wilson Leal, Director of Market and Technology at Seguros Unimed, this customer portfolio was strategic for the company in 2022 and will remain a strong area of commercial focus for 2023, with expectations of a growth in revenue of around 20% across the year.

“This is yet another delivery from our team, which has invested heavily in resources for generating new business. With the use of an agile and more intuitive tool, brokers will be able to do the process more smoothly and even increase the number of sales of SME plans. At Seguros Unimed, we work in a two-way street with our partners. Therefore, we see great value in the development of solutions that help them in their activities and encourage them to improve even more,” said Leal.

At first, the Acelera platform will only be available for sales in São Paulo and Distrito Federal in the SME healthcare segment. Within the next few months, it will also be available for the use of partners in all of Seguros Unimed’s sales regions in Brazil.

Seguros Unimed will also be the host for the 29th ICMIF Americas Conference which will take place on 8-10 November 2023, in Belo Horizonte (Brazil). Find more information on the event here.
