ICMIF member Shelter Insurance (Shelter) and Guidewire have issued a joint announcement confirming Shelter has selected Guidewire InsuranceSuite to power the company’s core business, simplify its IT operations and help deliver additional value to agents, policyholders and employees. The announcement confirmed the selection and implementation of Guidewire as a key component of Shelter’s Monarch business transformation. Shelter says the Monarch transformation will focus on improving and expanding the mutual insurer’s capabilities to enable its continued success in the market. Guidewire PartnerConnect Consulting Global Strategic member PwC will lead the implementation project.
Teresa Magruder, Executive Vice President, Shelter said, “Shelter believes using technology and data to re-imagine business processes and workflows is the key to value creation for our agents, employees and customers. Guidewire fits with our Monarch business transformation initiative to highlight our strategic investment in technology and delivery of new business processes and models to keep Shelter in an industry-leading position now and into the future.”
“We selected Guidewire to transform our technology platform to meet our long-term business needs,” added Shelter’s Vice President of Strategy Matthew Schwartz. “Guidewire is a forward-thinking technology partner and provides a collection of leading solutions focused on P&C insurance and will continue to innovate and improve with every cloud release to accelerate our transformation effort.”
John Rooney, Vice President of Technology Strategy at Shelter said: “Shelter believes using the Guidewire cloud platform to enhance straight-through processing in underwriting and claims, drive more data-driven decisions throughout operations, increase overall digital experience and adoption, and improve agent visibility into customer interactions and transactions, is the key to value creation for our agents, employees and customers.”
“We are pleased to help guide Shelter’s technological transformation. In today’s dynamic and ever-changing business environment, cloud transformation has become an essential requirement rather than a luxury,” commented PwC Global Guidewire Practice Leader Imran Ilyas. “We remain dedicated to providing Shelter with unmatched expertise and support as they embark on this transformative project.”
Guidewire Chief Commercial Officer David Laker concluded, “We are pleased that Shelter has chosen Guidewire to serve as the technology foundation to continue its mission of building enduring relationships with its customers by providing exceptional service and value.”
Shelter also selected other Guidewire products including Guidewire Canvas, Guidewire Explore, Guidewire HazardHub and Guidewire Predict to enable the insurer to embed insights—and the data behind those insights—directly into policy and claims workflows, as well as Guidewire Digital applications. Shelter says it plans to implement all of the Guidewire products on Guidewire Cloud for each of its P&C brands, beginning with all of the personal lines of business in each of the states where it operates individually, followed by all of the commercial lines of business.
