Work reimagined

HR Forum

Duncan Meadows from EY presents the key findings and implications for HR leaders of mutual and cooperative insurers from EY's most recent 2021 Global Employee Survey, as businesses and teams continue to adapt and react quickly to the extended impact of COVID-19 on the "new world of work".

As the world comes to grips with the extended impact of COVID-19, businesses and teams are having to continue to adjust and react quickly. With vaccinations started, the thinking is shifting gears from temporary health and safety to longer term ways to reimagine work.

Employers are evaluating new strategies based on prior study findings to adapt to new and more flexible ways of working. New strategies encompass approaches to hiring, policies on where and how work gets done, and workplace and technology changes.

Employees in some markets are moving at record levels in anticipation of opportunities for flexibility, choosing to work new schedules and in new locations on a temporary basis to spend time with family, learn new things or explore new places. As of March 2021, Google Trends key word searches have increased significantly for remote work.

This presentation was delivered during the monthly ICMIF Member-to-Member Discussions for HR Directors. Please contact Mike Ashurst, Vice-President of Reinsurance and Professional Development, to find out more about the HR discussions.
