Exploration vs exploitation: Innovation in subscription-based insurance models

In 2020, P&V (Belgium) launched a new on-demand and subscription-based bicycle insurance product, Vélo, the first of its kind in the Belgian market. Referred to by many as the “Netflix for insurance”, this unique offering combines some of the successful characteristics of the leading subscription-based streaming platform with the cooperative DNA of P&V.

This webinar explores how P&V goes about seizing new business opportunities that are aligned with its strategic objective to be active in today’s ecosystems in order to evolve the way it provides insurance solutions for the future. P&V share some of its successes and difficulties in prototyping new solutions, its approach and process through which it seeks to exploit new business models, and lessons learned from its collaborations and scale-up partnerships over the years.

Using Vélo as a case study, the webinar focuses on P&V’s journey to develop this award-winning innovative solution in the mobility ecosystem that has disrupted how the cooperative insurer has traditionally offered insurance protection for more than 100 years. This webinar also includes a live demo of P&V’s new eCommerce channel for Vélo.
