La Segunda podcast launched March 2024

Bringing an innovative approach as part of its commitment to sustainability, ICMIF member La Segunda Seguros (Argentina) has launched its first podcast on the largest music platform in the world: Spotify. As part of the cooperative insurer’s sustainability campaign, “Sustainable Generation”, this series of talks invites people to rethink their daily practices and explore ways to have a positive impact on the environment.

The aim of the “Sustainable Generation” podcast is for it to be a space for dialogue on sustainability issues. The aim is to raise awareness on issues such as disability, women’s rights, ergonomics, road safety, waste reduction, among others. Bringing together top-level influencers, specialists and disseminators, La Segunda Seguros has configured a cast of speakers that includes prominent names in Argentina such as disability and diversity facilitator and motivational speaker, Daniela Aza; women’s rights campaigner, Pupina Plomer; social entrepreneur, Alejandro Malgor; and sustainability campaigner Dafna Nudelman.

After the successful debut of the “Sustainable Generation” campaign on YouTube, La Segunda Seguros is now taking a strategic leap towards the global platform, Spotify, and producing its first podcast. This move responds to the company’s desire to expand the reach of its message and connect with a more diverse and engaged audience. A well-known journalist from Rosario, Juan Manuel Fontana, has joined the project as a presenter, contributing his experience and charisma to guide listeners on a journey of reflection and discovery.

Martín Faicht, Head of Marketing and Communication, La Segunda, said: “At La Segunda we believe that in order to promote a more sustainable society, it is necessary to have conversations that may make us uncomfortable. “Sustainable Generation” aims to generate those reflections that drive us to change some of our behaviour, or to learn about certain issues from another point of view.”

With its foray into the world of podcasting, La Segunda Seguros says it has marked a milestone in its commitment to sustainability. “Sustainable Generation” not only seeks to inform and raise awareness, but also to inspire concrete actions that drive positive change in the community. In a global context where climate urgency and social equity are priority issues, this podcast is presented by the insurer as a beacon of hope and action.

“Sustainable Generation” is now available on Spotify for all those who wish to join this transformative conversation. La Segunda Seguros invites people to join it in its mission to build a more just, equitable and sustainable world for present and future generations with the message “Listen, reflect, and act – together we can make a difference.”

The importance of sustainability for La Segunda Seguros

La Segunda Seguros says that the cooperative model is a key driver for it in wanting to operate sustainably to minimise its environmental impact and also support the community in which it works. This initiative is part of the insurer’s commitment to the cooperative values of responsibility, equality, equity and solidarity.

The organisation says its commitment to sustainability dates back to when it was first established and is now a key part of its business strategy. Since 2021, La Segunda has also been part of the Global Compact, with a role on the Board of Directors of Argentina, and it has also joined UN Women.

Taking the sustainability conversation to the next level

“We saw that the talks on sustainability were focused on instilling fear, or simply information, and left us little room for action,” said Martin Faicht, the Group’s Communications Leader, adding: “Within this framework, we decided to focus on taking a different look, giving practical advice that can be applied on a day-to-day basis and focusing on three pillars: social, economic and environmental.”
