5-star

Canadian ICMIF member The Mutual Fire Insurance Company of British Columbia has been recognised as one of the best insurance carriers in Canada, achieving a Five-Star rating in Insurance Business Canada’s sixth annual broker survey.

Each year, Insurance Business Canada asks hundreds of insurance brokers from across the country how well insurance companies are meeting expectations in its Five-Star Carriers Report 2021. Agents and brokers rate their insurance carriers on a scale of one (poor) to five (excellent) across ten categories and provide valuable and constructive feedback through their comments.

Carriers that received an average score of 4.00 or higher were named a Five-Star Carrier for that category. This year, Mutual Fire Insurance earned Five-Stars in six categories: broker communication; claims processing; competitive rates; overall service level; range of products; and underwriting expertise.

When asked about the Five-Star rating, President and CEO, Darin Lord Nessel said “An achievement like this is built on the work we do day-in and day-out. From the underwriting floor to the claims team to the front desk, each member of our staff is empowered to embrace change to serve our broker partners, members, and policyholders. MFI has always been a Five-Star Carrier to me and the management team. Now, we can celebrate an official accolade ranking Mutual Fire Insurance with the top carriers in Canada.”

Partner service is at the heart of the organisation’s mutual history and Mutual Fire Insurance was thrilled to learn brokers gave the company Five-Stars in overall service level, broker communication, and claims processing.

Founded in 1902, Mutual Fire Insurance was the first mutual insurance company headquartered in British Columbia. Today, the company provides solutions for farm, commercial, and home insurance needs from British Columbia to Ontario.
