Since 1974, 1CISP (1 Cooperative Insurance System of the Philippines) has been serving poor and low-income Filipinos through its member cooperatives in both rural and urban areas of the Philippines. Over the years, 1CISP has driven continuous innovation to address the ever-changing social and business needs of its members.
In 2019, 1CISP introduced the country’s latest fintech platform – DigiCoop: a free web-based application that serves as a digital ecosystem for cooperatives (1CISP’s primary target market), aiming to create wealth and secure the future for cooperatives and its members beyond financial inclusion.
Digicoop’s one-stop platform for online transactions serves as the gateway to 1CISP’s digital integrated insurance system, providing a seamless customer experience for the distribution of its products through the 1Kooperative Insurance Network (1KIN): a partnership between 1CISP and its member cooperatives, that aims to empower the partner cooperatives by delivering affordable and reliable risk protection products to their members.
Despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, 1CISP continues to remain resilient and innovative to adapt to emerging issues brought about by the ‘new normal’. In line with its core value of mutual prosperity, 1CISP wants to act as a front-runner to digitally empower all cooperatives, leading the digitalisation of the cooperative business model across the Philippines.
