Meeting of Reinsurance Officials 2022

Monday 16 May to Wednesday 18 May 2022
Wiesbaden (Germany)

MORO stands for Meeting of Reinsurance Officials and is a unique, global gathering of reinsurance professionals from the mutual and cooperative sector that normally meets every two years.

In 2018, 84 reinsurance managers from 49 companies in 17 countries gathered in Montreal to learn from and to do business with each other. At least as many are expected at the next MORO, which will take place from 16-18 May 2022 in Wiesbaden (Germany)

Even though we have been unable to meet face to face since the MORO in Montreal in 2018, we had hundreds of participants attending a series of reinsurance webinars in 2020 and then the virtual MORO in 2021. ICMIF members can access the recordings and presentations slides from each session of the 2021 virtual MORO by contacting Mike Ashurst for more information and the necessary links.

Why attend MORO 2022?

The MORO is an outstanding opportunity to share reinsurance knowledge and discuss issues of common interest with your peers from around the world in a collaborative and supportive environment. The three-day event includes high level presentations, discussion panels and one-to-one meetings, with a unique focus on how reinsurance issues affect mutual and cooperative insurers.

Covid19 rules during the MORO 2022

At the Dorint Hotel, where the Mini Monte Carlo networking session and the Welcome Reception will take place on Monday 16 May, there are no restrictions which need to be followed regarding Covid19.

However, the remaining Conference sessions on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 May will take place in our host R+V’s offices, and they have stricter Covid rules still in place.

In order to respect our generous host’s requirements for the Conference sessions on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 May, we kindly ask for your help to make this process as easy as possible for everyone, by following the rules below:

1. To enter the conference venue (R+V offices), you will need to follow R+V’s “3G” rule: which means that only persons who have recovered from Covid19 (not longer than three months ago); or are fully vaccinated; or tested persons on the same day are admitted inside the venue:

a. Upon registration on site, you will be asked to show proof of the appropriate situation for yourself from the three options above.

b. You will also be asked to fill out a form from R+V for both days (which will be provided by the Event Team).

2. An OP or FFP2 mask will be MANDATORY inside the R+V offices and can only be removed when seated inside the conference room or while eating and drinking.

3. We will provide each attendee at the onsite Registration desk (Monday 16 May from 11am at the Dorint Hotel) with a small package containing three Covid19 self-tests and would like to ask you to carry a self-test before the Welcome Reception and also each morning before attending the conference sessions at the R+V headquarters that day (please note, this is voluntary). Alternatively, you may collect this from our Help Desk at the hotel prior to boarding the coaches, please allow enough time to administer the test and check your result before meeting other delegates at the pick up point.

      4. Unfortunately, attendees with cold symptoms will not be allowed to attend the Conference.

      5. Before travelling we would recommend that you check the latest Covid19 rules in Germany, please visit this website.

Important: if you need to do a Covid19 PCR test whilst you are in Germany, the nearest test centre is at the main station of Wiesbaden (500 m or a seven minutes’ walk from the Dorint Hotel).

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
